HOW DO I GET MY JEWELRY GILDED?
Send us an e-mail by clicking on the button below, with a photo of your jewel and its material. We'll send you a customized quotation with all the information you need...
Please note that jewels containing stones can only be plated if they are genuine stones (otherwise the gilding will cover the entire jewel).
Each plating is unique, since it depends on many variables, such as original materials, composition, condition of the jewel, provenance... If the jewel is badly damaged, or if the original material is not known, the galvanizing result is not guaranteed.
Galvanizing stainless steel requires a special technique that we do not offer.
WHAT ARE THE PRICES?
The price depends on the surface of the jewel. The minimum charge is €50 + €8 shipping cost .
We offer gilding in 24-carat gold, 3 microns (Plaqué or gold-plated) or 5 microns, depending on your requirements.
WHAT IS THE GILDING PROCESS?
The gilding process is called Galvanizing.
It consists in coating metals with a layer of gold, thus transforming silver or brass jewelry into gold-plated jewelry...
Galvanizing involves electrolysis.
The jewel is immersed in a bath of gold, connected to an electric current. Thanks to this continuous electric current, gold particles are deposited on the metal over time...
Elsa takes you behind the scenes of this process, which is rarely open to the public:
